A big multi-tiered soft play on Sefton Lane, split by age: a baby zone of shapes, rockers and interactive panels with a newer multi-sensory area, a toddler frame up to five with an interactive ball pool and wavy slide, and a junior frame up to 12 with a 5.4 metre four-lane astra slide, a 5.4 metre racing slide, a ball cannon arena and a separate sports area.

Open 9.30am to 6pm every day except over Christmas. A child over 12 months is £7.95 on a term-time weekday and £11.95 at peak times, and adults pay £1 or £2. Play is capped at two hours, children over 4ft 10in play at the staff's discretion, food has to be bought from the on-site cafe, and socks are compulsory. Parking is free, and you can book a session online or just turn up.

What it costs: Children 12 months and over £7.95 Monday to Friday off peak in term time, £11.95 at peak times. Babies 3 to 11 months £7.95, under 3 months free. Adults £1 off peak, £2 peak. Blue Light card holders get 10% off walk-in admission.

Know before you go

Only food bought on site can be eaten on the premises, so leave the picnic in the car.
Socks must be worn at all times in the play area, and play is limited to two hours.
Babies from 3 months pay the same £7.95 as walking children, which stings a bit if you are only bringing the baby for the ride.

Worth knowing: Zones for babies, toddlers up to 5 and juniors up to 12; height limit 4ft 10in.
