Westhoughton rather than Bolton proper, on an industrial estate off the A6, and the useful thing about it is the outdoor play area. Most soft play is a windowless box you enter and leave; this one has an outdoor area with climbing, slides and water play, included in the entry when the weather allows, which changes the arithmetic on a borderline day.
Inside there is a multi-level frame with slides for over fours, a padded toddler section for under fours, and a sensory room for babies under a year. Go karts cost extra. Parking is free and the cafe has a five star hygiene rating; only food and drink bought on site can be eaten there.
It is not cheap: £11.45 a child off-peak and £13.45 at peak times, with non-playing adults £3.25 and £4.49. The family pass for two adults and two children, £27 off-peak and £32 peak, is the one to buy. It opens 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 9.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays.
