Soft play & indoor play in Blackburn

Somewhere dry when the forecast falls apart. Frames, ball pits, sensory rooms and bowling.

Funtazia is the one everybody means: 24,000 square feet in the middle of town with go karts, bumper cars and laser tag alongside the frames, which is how it keeps eight and nine-year-olds interested. It is also the most expensive, at £11.50 a child at peak, and it shuts on Tuesdays.

Flip Out on Haslingden Road is a trampoline park with a genuine padded soft play attached, so it works for a family split across the age where bouncing becomes allowed. Ten minutes down the A666 in Darwen, Temple of Fun is the quieter independent, with a sensory room and adult seating designed by somebody who has sat in a soft play for two hours. Check the day before you drive: term-time opening at both is patchy.

Bigger than the average soft play: multi-level frame, a spooky room, an astro slide, a climbing wall, two mini bowling lanes and a slot racing track. The bowling is what makes it work when you have a toddler and a seven-year-old to keep happy at once.
