Illustration of Fun Valley Bolton

Fun Valley is an indoor play centre at 224 Blackburn Road in Bolton, with free parking on site. It has a junior play frame for the bigger ones and a separate toddler frame, and a parent cafe where adults can sit while they play. The food is halal. A role play village and a sensory area are on the list as coming soon, so do not go expecting them yet.

Sessions are two hours. Ages 4 to 13 pay £8, children from 12 months to under 4 pay £7, and adults £1.50. Babies under 12 months are also £7 unless they come with a paying sibling, in which case they are free. It opens 10am to 6pm Tuesday to Sunday and is closed on Mondays except in the school holidays, which is the one thing to check.

It is a straightforward, no-frills soft play rather than a destination, and the price reflects that. There is baby changing, free wifi and a multi-faith room, which is not something most soft plays think about. Parties are £15 a child for 105 minutes, an hour of play then food in a private area, and the centre warns weekend and holiday dates go quickly.

What it costs: Ages 4 to 13 £8; 12 months to under 4 £7; under 12 months £7, or free with a paying sibling; adults £1.50. Sessions are two hours. Open Tue to Sun 10am to 6pm; Mondays closed except in the holidays. Parties £15 a child (£50 deposit).

Know before you go

  • Mondays are closed outside the school holidays, so check the date before promising it.
  • A baby under 12 months gets in free with a paying brother or sister; on their own they are £7.
  • The role play village and sensory area were still marked 'coming soon' in October 2026.
