Jump Heaven

Jump Heaven is on Pepper Road in Hazel Grove, and packs a lot in: 75 interconnected trampolines, foam pits, battle beams, giant airbags, a climbing wall, dodgeball and basketball, four ninja warrior courses, a zip line, and a large activity frame with tube and speed slides. Rainy days are Stockport's weak spot, and this is one answer that still works for a ten year old.
An hour is £15 online and two hours £20, and walking in costs £2 more. The best value is the term-time Monday to Wednesday offer, two hours for the price of one. Toddler Time runs on term-time weekday mornings at £9 for a toddler and an adult, and the under-six ticket includes a free non-jumping adult. Grip socks are compulsory and £3 at reception.
Mind the supervision rules before you plan to sit with a coffee: under 12s need an adult in the arena for the whole session. Five and unders are kept off the zip line and the giant airbag.
What it costs: 1 hour Jump Super Pass £15 online, 2 hours £20 online (same price for 5 and under, which includes one free non-jumping adult). Tickets bought in store carry a £2 walk-in charge. Grip socks £3 if you do not have them; supervising adults go in free but need socks. Term-time Monday to Wednesday BOGOF: two hours for £15. Toddler Time, term-time weekdays 10am to 12pm: £9 for one toddler and one adult.
Know before you go
- Term time it closes at noon on Thursdays. Monday to Wednesday is 10am to 6pm, Friday to Sunday 10am to 7pm, and every day in half term 10am to 7pm.
- An adult has to be in the arena for the whole session with any child under 12, and one adult can supervise at most two under fives.
Worth knowing: Under 12s need an adult in the arena. No zip line or giant airbag for 5 and under.

Lyme Park
A proper deer park on the edge of the Peaks: 1,400 acres, a herd of red deer, the Crow Wood adventure playground, and the house from the BBC's Pride and Prejudice.
Reddish Vale Farm
A proper small farm park tucked into the Tame valley on Stockport's edge: cows, goats, shire horses and alpacas, zip wires outside and a play area under cover for when it rains. Book online, the gate price is higher.
Etherow Country Park
A big lake crowded with waterfowl, a flat path alongside it and a cafe where you left the car: the easiest small-child walk in the Stockport area. Entry is free, the car park is not.
Bramall Hall & Park
A black and white Tudor manor house sitting in around 60 acres of parkland with woods, brooks and lakes. The park costs nothing, under 16s go into the hall free, and all-day parking is £3.
Hat Works Museum
The UK's only museum of hats and hatting, back open after a four-year refurbishment. The galleries are free and you can try hats on; the Victorian factory floor is a £7.50 guided tour. An hour well spent, not a full day.
