Illustration of Kinderworld Playbarn

Attached to the Kinderworld nursery on Bispham Road, and it opens its playbarn to the public between 10am and 2pm on weekdays if you book. That limitation is also the appeal: on a Tuesday morning it is a handful of toddlers rather than a hundred children at half term volume.

It was refurbished in 2024. The equipment is pitched at gross motor skills for the very young rather than at climbing frames, and there is a cafe with a proper adult menu alongside the children's one.

Southport is thin on soft play, with really only this and Playtown in the town itself, so knowing this one exists is worth something on a wet weekday with a two-year-old.

What it costs: Parent and toddler sessions were £2.90 a session when last listed. General admission prices are not published; phone 01704 214272.

Know before you go

  • Public access is weekday mornings only, 10am to 2pm, and you have to book. It is a nursery the rest of the time.
  • This is a toddler place. A seven-year-old will have finished it in twenty minutes.
