Rock Over Climbing Manchester Central

Rock Over's Manchester Central is a bouldering wall, meaning no ropes, just short climbs over thick matting. It has over 300 problems spread across several levels, and the setters change them often, which keeps older children coming back. The centre is clear it is not a soft play.
The catch is the first visit. If no adult in your group is an experienced registered climber, you book a family introduction: £20 per adult and £10 per child with an instructor, recommended from age 5. After that, under-13s are £9 a visit and adults £15, plus £3.50 if you need shoes. Opening is 11am to 10pm on weekdays and 10am to 8pm at weekends, with a cafe and an on-site car park.

- The car park surface is uneven gravel, and the accessible toilets are on the upper level only.
- Wear trainers and clothes you can stretch in; climbing shoes can be hired for £3.50.

Runway Visitor Park
Watch jets take off close enough to feel them, with Concorde parked by the fence. Free in, pay for parking, and there is a play area and cafe for the wait between planes.
Heaton Park
One of the biggest municipal parks in Europe: a free animal centre, boating lake, adventure playgrounds and an actual vintage tram running on summer days. You will not do all of it in one visit.
Wythenshawe Park & Community Farm
A big south Manchester park with a proper community farm - pigs, goats, horses - a Tudor hall, and enough playground to earn the trip on its own. All free.
