Blackburn Empire's panto is Aladdin this year, with a long run from late November into January. Flat prices, £14 a child and £58 for a family, with no premium dates on the booking page, which is refreshing. The December weekend shows were already marked as selling fast in September.
Blackburn's Christmas panto, rated suitable for all ages by the venue. Nearly every show is at midday or 4pm, and from 28 December at 1pm, which suits nap schedules better than a 7pm curtain up. The only evening show is opening night.
Elf and Safety, a slapstick Christmas show from Blue Jay Theatre at Darwen Library Theatre, with a free gift for every child at the end. Suitable for all ages.
On Christmas Eve, Darwen Library Theatre has a live puppet show from Puppet Folk followed by The Muppet Christmas Carol on screen. Starts at noon, suitable for all.
