Bootle does not appear on many family days out lists, which is how a pool with an actual flume in it stays quiet. The leisure centre sits in North Park with a 25 metre main pool on a moveable floor and a separate leisure pool with a flume ride, which is the bit children come for. A moveable floor means the main pool depth changes by session, so if you need shallow water, check which session you are booking.

The rate is Active Sefton's own council one, in force since 1 April 2026: £7.30 an adult, £4.70 a junior. The Sefton Saver Plus card costs £15 a year for adults and £7.50 for children and takes those to £6.00 and £3.80, so a family swimming more than about four times a year is ahead almost immediately. Spectators pay 50p. A charmingly Merseyside touch. Under eights must have an adult in the water with them, so two children usually means two adults. Watch the weekend hours: the building is open 9am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, but the pool closes at 3.30pm and the fitness suite stops admitting at the same time. On weekdays it runs 7am to 9.30pm, so an after school swim is genuinely possible.

Worth knowing: Under-8s must be accompanied in the water by an adult at all times.
