Illustration of Go Ape Delamere

The Treetop Adventure course keeps six-year-olds clipped in and grinning through nets, wobbly bridges and a finishing zip that lands them in bark chips with maximum drama. Everything happens above the same forest the Gruffalo trail winds through, so one booking quietly buys a full day out.

Parents can climb too or spectate from below with a coffee. Whichever you choose, someone will demand you watch every single crossing. Allow for this.

Know before you go

  • Gloves with grip help small hands on the wires - they sell them but any garden glove works.
  • Book the earliest slot. The forest is quieter, the queues for each crossing shorter, and you have the rest of the day for the Gruffalo trail below.

Worth knowing: Treetop Adventure from 6; Challenge needs 10+ and 1.4m.
