Go Ape Delamere
Zip wires and treetop crossings through the tallest pines in Delamere Forest. The junior course takes them from six; the big course is a genuine test of nerve.
Delamere, Cheshire

Cheshire's biggest forest, properly set up for families: the Gruffalo sculptures still stand along the mile-long trail, and 2026's new activity trail is Room on the Broom, with panels and activities from the visitor centre. The whole loop is pram-friendly.
Go Ape runs overhead for older children, bikes can be hired, and the cafe at the visitor centre earns its queue. Parking is the only essential cost - pay it and the day is otherwise free.

A giant inflatable obstacle course floating on a Cheshire lake: 50 minutes of climbing, sliding and falling in. Brilliant for confident swimmers aged 6 and up, no use at all for anyone smaller.
