A theme park deliberately built for the 2-13 band, which changes everything: a five-year-old can ride most of the park rather than watching from the fence. Themed lands, gentle coasters, a log flume, and staff used to nervous first-timers.
It will not thrill teenagers, and it does not try to. Book online for cheaper entry, check the height boards at the gate, and commit to the full day - leaving at lunch wastes the ticket.
The pattern from families posting over the summer is consistent: multi-ticket bundles save real money (one parent counted £25 saved across the group), parking is free, prams are easy, and picnics are allowed, with kiosks filling the gaps.
The honest positioning has not changed in twenty years and is the reason it works: everything is aimed at 2 to 13, so the five-year-old rides nearly everything and nobody spends the day watching. Book at least two days ahead: the advance prices are a different sport from the gate.
What it costs: Under-90cm children go free. Advance online tickets run well under the gate price, with early-season and off-peak dates from about £17 when booked at least two days ahead.
