This is a proper working farm rather than a petting zoo: the draw is the award-winning farm shop, the cafe, and picking your own from nearly 20 crops between June and August. Strawberries and raspberries are the headline act, with sweetcorn and sunflowers carrying late summer.
Picking is ticketed per person, adults and children alike, and strawberry sessions need booking a day or two ahead. Everyone gets a decent handful of produce included, then you pay for what else you pick. The free play area by the cafe - swings, slide, old tractors to clamber on - buys you a peaceful coffee afterwards.
The calendar does a lot of work here: a maize maze and sunflower trail in summer, a pumpkin festival in October, welly walks in winter. Locals treat it as four different days out.
What it costs: Entry, parking and the playground are free. The Pumpkin Festival runs every day until 31 October 2026 at £3.95 a person, under 18 months free, advance booking only, and pumpkins are paid for separately. Pick your own returns in summer 2027 and its prices are not published yet.
Know before you go
- Strawberry tickets are only released 1-2 days ahead and are non-refundable, so watch the website rather than planning weeks out.
- The play area is free with no booking - they just ask you buy a drink or snack while the kids are on it.

Treetop rope courses in the woods at Walton Hall Gardens. The Warrington site runs the Adventurer course, built for children from age 4 with a minimum height of 1.05m, with over 60 activities at different heights. Children £19; supervising adults walking below go free.

Apple Jacks Adventure Farm
An adventure farm off Stretton Road built for 4 to 12s: tractor trailer rides, zip wires, drop slides, jumping pillows, roller skating and a tent full of inflatables. Despite the name there are no animals to see, and in October it turns into Spooky World's daytime Fun-By-Day.
Giggles Play Mill
Two-tier soft play frame, low climbing wall, pirate ship, crawl tubes and a bouncy slide, plus Messy Monday and sensory sessions during the week.
Jellybeans Play Centre
Bigger than the average soft play: multi-level frame, a spooky room, an astro slide, a climbing wall, two mini bowling lanes and a slot racing track. The bowling is what makes it work when you have a toddler and a seven-year-old to keep happy at once.
