The Everyman is the Hope Street half of the Everyman and Playhouse pair, and families mostly know it for the Rock 'n' Roll Panto, which runs from mid-November to mid-January as part rock concert, part panto, with live music throughout. This year it is Beauty and the Beast.
The year-round reason to go with small children is Mini Maestros: music sessions for 0 to 5s in the Street Cafe every Saturday at 10.15 and 11.15 from late September to July, with percussion, signing and dancing, run by a local musicians' collective.
The honest catch is that the picture-book shows are not here. Sir Charlie Stinky Socks this October, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Pip and Posy and Zog next spring, are all at the Playhouse in Williamson Square, the company's other theatre, a 10 to 15 minute walk downhill. Check which theatre is on your tickets before you set off.

What it costs: Mini Maestros is £10 a session or £36 for a block of four, booked through RISE Music Education. The Rock 'n' Roll Panto is £20 to £47.
The Everyman's actor-musician panto, loud, local and played live like a rock gig, this year doing Beauty and the Beast. It opens mid-November and runs to 16 January, so a November weekday or a January date is easier to get than a December Saturday matinee, several of which are already marked selling fast.
