Tatton is really two days out sharing a car park. The budget version: pay £9 to £11 for the car, depending on season, then you have 1,000 acres of deer park, walking trails, the Allen bird hide, picnic spots and the children's playground at no further cost. Red and fallow deer roam free, and for most primary-age children that is the day sorted.
The full version adds tickets: the 1930s working farm with rare breeds, 50 acres of gardens including the Japanese garden, and the mansion. Farm and gardens run £11 an adult and £9 a child each, so a family doing everything is into proper-spend territory. National Trust members do the mansion and gardens free, which softens it a lot.
The estate is run by Cheshire East Council on behalf of the National Trust, and it hosts big seasonal events all year. In summer 2026 a £20 Park and Play Pass covered daily parkland entry from mid July to early September, which locals treat as a season ticket.

Pick your own out of the field at the farm, four pounds a pumpkin on top of normal entry. You choose it yourself rather than lifting one off a pallet, so expect muddy hands.
A Halloween trail the children drive themselves, in mini Land Rovers. Tatton claim it is the only drivable Halloween trail in the country, and whether or not that holds, a five-year-old at the wheel is the part that gets talked about.

Eagles, owls and vultures flown close enough to feel the wingbeat, at a sanctuary that is about the birds rather than the gift shop. Displays run through the day; small, and better for it.
Five and a half acres at the bottom end of Tatton Mere, a public park since 1907 and two minutes from Knutsford town centre. Two play areas, one for toddlers and one for bigger children, and benches facing the water.
