Radcliffe Library's Monday rhyme time carries on at New Life Church, 10.30am in term time, while the library is closed for its move into the new Radcliffe Hub. Cost is not stated on the council page.
Free Rhyme and Chat Time at Bury Library on Thursdays in term time, 11.30am to 12.30pm, aimed at early speech and language. No booking. Use the ramp opposite the Job Centre and staff will let you in.
A movement class for 1 to 5s and their grown-ups at The Met in Bury, Wednesdays 1.30pm to 2.30pm until 16 December, with no session in half term. £4.50 a session. Good for burning off energy indoors.
A proper scout-run bonfire with games, stalls and refreshments, and a £2 child ticket. The fireworks are not until 8pm, so it is a late one for toddlers.
A walk through Bury Bolton Street dressed as a winter wonderland, then an 80-minute steam round trip to Rawtenstall with a brass band, a gift for every child and Santa coming down the carriage. The late November weekend is the cheapest by some distance, and parking in Bury is tight, so the Santa Shuttle from Heywood is worth a look.
The Met in Bury does Jack and the Beanstalk with Big Tiny, 5 to 28 December. There is a relaxed show on 13 December at 11am, a pyjama show on 11 December and a BSL show on 18 December. From £15.
