Tiny Teds Soft Play, Stretford

Not a soft play centre, a soft play session, and worth listing precisely because of what it costs. Trafford Leisure runs Tiny Teds at the Chester Centre in Stretford four mornings a week: soft play equipment out on the sports hall floor, toys, books, music and a sing-along at the end, with juice and biscuits for the children included.
Three pounds forty-five gets an adult and a child in. Extra children are £1.95 and extra adults £1.50. For comparison, the same family at a commercial centre in Trafford Park is looking at four or five times that.
It runs Monday to Thursday, 10am to 11.30am, under-5s only, and you book through the leisure app rather than turning up. Nobody over about four will get anything out of it, and that is fine, because that is exactly who it is for.

A Georgian house in a deer park where the fallow deer wander right past you. This summer's Play Hub adds giant games and den building in the North Park, and the winter garden is the area's best cold-day walk.
