Blackpool Pleasure Beach
The big one. Nickelodeon Land covers the primary ages properly while the Big One and the wooden coasters wait for brave older kids. August queues are real; go in expecting them and it is a great day.

Thingamajigz is an indoor soft play centre on Poulton Business Park, on the edge of Poulton-le-Fylde. It has been on the Fylde coast for around 20 years and was reopened in 2022 by the four partners who brought Clip 'n Climb to Blackpool. The centre describes itself as 3,000 square feet, and the height rule is simple: any age can play as long as they are under 150cm.
The useful bit for parents is the midweek Play All Day ticket, launched at the end of August 2026. In term time, Monday to Friday, one admission per child lets you turn up whenever you like and stay as long as you want, with the doors now opening at 9am and last entry at 3pm. Walk-ins are welcome when there is space, but booking online guarantees a slot.
Prices are not on the website, so you only see them in the booking system. No food or drink can be brought in. The Shack cafe runs 10am to 3pm on weekdays and 10.30am to 4pm at weekends. Opening hours are short and shift at half term, so check the centre's social media for changes before you set off, especially in the holidays.
What it costs: Admission prices are not on the website; they appear in the online booking system. The term-time Play All Day ticket is one admission per child for unlimited play, Monday to Friday.
Worth knowing: Children under 150cm only.

Tower Top's glass floor 380 feet up, a proper circus that still knows how to play to kids, and the famous ballroom below for a fancy ice cream. Buy the attractions you want rather than the bundle you will not use.

The UK's biggest indoor waterpark, kept at tropical temperature: proper toddler pools and mini slides at one end, big flumes at the other. Rainy-day Blackpool solved.

Elephants, gorillas, giraffes and sea lions in 37 acres that are actually walkable with primary-age legs - big enough to feel like a full day, small enough that nobody ends up carried.

A solid seafront aquarium with an ocean tunnel and rockpool sessions - the reliable wet-weather hour when the beach plan falls apart.

Blackpool's grand free option: Italian gardens, a big boating lake, one of the best playgrounds on the coast and model boats on the lake. The antidote to a wristband day.
One email a week: what is on this weekend within a sensible drive, and the places worth booking before they go.
