The Wave Rider ticket pairs the Sandcastle with Pleasure Beach at £50, which the park is now advertising as a last chance to buy.
Practicalities that surprise first-timers: the whole building runs at a tropical 29 degrees, so adults sitting out still want swimwear rather than jeans. Food and drink inside runs on Splash Cash, their cashless system, so load a card at the start rather than dripping back to the lockers. And everything is book-online now, including grandparents who just want to watch.
What it costs: Online: £25.50 for anyone 8 and over, £16.50 for 3 to 7s (their ticket excludes the MasterBlaster, Montazooma and Aztec Falls), under 3s free. Same-day online booking is £2 more. Everyone, including non-swimmers watching, needs a ticket. Last Splash, the last two hours of the day, is £15.
