The UK's biggest indoor waterpark, kept at greenhouse temperature all year: toddler lagoons and mini slides at one end, serious flumes and a wave pool at the other. When Blackpool weather does its worst, this is the answer.
It sells out in the holidays - book ahead. The biggest slides live in a paid add-on zone; deciding at booking is cheaper than deciding at the till, and skipping it entirely still leaves plenty of park.
Two money-savers are worth knowing. Last Splash evening sessions are cheaper than day tickets for the same slides, and with under-tens two hours in a waterpark is honestly the right dose anyway. The Wave Rider combination ticket pairs the Sandcastle with Pleasure Beach rides at £43.75, which beats buying the two days separately.
Practicalities that surprise first-timers: the whole building runs at a tropical 29 degrees, so adults sitting out still want swimwear rather than jeans. Food and drink inside runs on Splash Cash, their cashless system, so load a card at the start rather than dripping back to the lockers. And everything is book-online now, including grandparents who just want to watch.
What it costs: From £22.31 online, and booking online saves £2 a head on the door. Under-2s free. Everyone, including spectators, needs a booked ticket.
